Open Air Meriwether 2018

     Open Air Meriwether is the visual arts event of the year!  Professional artists from all over Georgia paint all over Meriwether County for three days. The invited artists will sell their work at Artisans on the Square in downtown Greenville from April 15 through May 6.

     The public and other area artists are invited to observe the invited artists at work.  The event is open to all artists to bring your easels and join in the painting fun.  Saturday, April 14 is open to all artists for a two-hour Quick Paint and sale to the public right from your easels.

Schedule of Events

April 12, 13 & 14 All Day

Professional Artists paint Meriwether. Other artists and the public are invited to watch and paint, but no sales from easels except on Saturday, April 14. See map for suggested painting locations. We cannot guarantee that artists will be painting at particular locations at any particular times.

April 14 9am – 1pm Quick Paint

All Artists are invited to Cotton Pickin’ Fair Grounds to paint from 10-12, then sell unframed and “wet canvas” art painted during the Quick Paint directly to the public. The public is invited to view the artists at work and negotiate directly with the artists for purchase of this work.

All artists are invited to register to be considered for future Open Air Meriwether events.

Clinton’s Restaurant food truck will arrive at 9am to sell sausage biscuits and stay until 1pm to continue selling biscuits, fried chicken and other treats as you visit and buy from artists. Port-a-John will be available.

April 15 2 – 5pm

Reception and Sale at Artisans on the Square Gallery in Downtown Greenville, GA. The art produced by the invited artists during the previous three days will on exhibit. Sales to the public begin.

April 15 – May 6

Professional artists’ work will remain on exhibit and available for purchase at Artisans on the Square.
